In a previous column, I introduced the importance of polishing the squeegee. A squeegee polished by an excellent polishing craftsman enables high-precision printing.
By the way, what should I do if there is no polishing craftsman?

Is it possible to surpass a polishing craftsman with a machine? One of our engineers, K, who read this column, said that he would develop a polishing machine that surpasses craftsmanship.

K first went to the polishing craftsman and asked him about the secrets of polishing. However, the polishing craftsman refused to deal with me, saying, "There is no machine in the world that can beat my polishing."Therefore, K declared to the polishing craftsman, "I will definitely develop a machine that is as good as the craftsmen!"

After returning to the company, K prepared all the squeegees the company handled, tried polishing them under various conditions, and checked the polished surface of the squeegees with a microscope and a surface roughness meter. Of course, there is a squeegee polished by a polishing craftsman next to it. I just kept polishing, polishing, and polishing until I compared this with the squeegee that K polished and it was the same.

I tried polishing under various conditions, such as the type of grindstone, peripheral speed of the grindstone, feed speed of the squeegee, and the number of times of polishing and finishing. Hundreds of them!!! Several months of sharpening the squeegee from morning to night!!

As a result of our efforts, we were able to discover conditions close to those of a polishing craftsman. Please have a look at the photos. You can see that the surface is fairly flat.
